Originally, the Château de la Selve was a fortified house first on the frontier of the Empire and then of the Kingdom of France. It then was transformed, century after century, into a farm. In 1990, this magnificent house became the property of Benoît’s parents.  In 2002, just after graduating at Beaune viticultural school, Benoit’s dream came true : creating a vineyard in the south of Ardèche, where he has the conviction that the soil has a tremendous potentiality: its burning sun and chill nights, its wild landscapes, its calcareous earth that smells of Provence, of humus and of truffle...!  Benoît and Florence, who joined him on the winery from 2007, are always looking for more vivacious grounds for the vine (that’s why they adopted biodynamic agriculture), and, in the cellar purer wines.
